Overview:Cedar Point has an opening in its Park Operations
Division for Area Manager of Fire and EMS. This position -assists
the Director of Safety with all operations related to the safety
and health issues of employees, guests and -park property. - This
candidate will ensure compliance with environmental and safety
requirements established by the government and Park along with
Supervising and reviewing the work of subordinate safety personnel.

Responsibilities:
- Operates a vehicle and a variety of equipment such as a
computer, copier, calculator, telephone, two-way radio, fax
machine, and other general office equipment. Operates vehicles such
as a fire pumper, rescue truck, ambulance, scooters, generators,
fire suppression equipment, rescue/extrication equipment, gas
detection equipment, weather monitoring equipment, first aid
equipment, personnel protective equipment, etc.
- Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals
such as the immediate supervisor, other Park management, staff and
employees, subordinates, corporate personnel, guests, vendors,
emergency response personnel, law enforcement personnel, insurance
representatives, auditors, inspectors, various government agencies,
hospital/health care personnel, etc. Disseminates safety
information and requirements to other Park departments as needed.
Attends training, workshops, meetings, etc. as required or
appropriate.
- Assists in coordinating safety and emergency protocols with
local emergency response agencies. Assists in covering shifts as
Safety Officer, acting as coordinator for all daily activities of
the department within the Park and as liaison between Safety and
other departmental management. Responds to after-hours emergencies
and incidents as required.
- Ensures that federal, state and local fire/safety laws,
regulations, codes and standards are observed and that required
records and reports are completed and maintained. Monitors and
inspects equipment, buildings and grounds as required, takes
corrective action as necessary to enforce compliance. Assists the
Director of Safety in supervising all phases of the Park's safety
program, including fire prevention, safety, first aid,
environmental issues and emergency planning. Receives and reviews
various records and reports including incident and accident
reports, inspection reports, health and safety reports, fire logs,
safety data sheets, etc. Refers to policies and procedures, codes,
regulations, standards, laws, training handbooks, operating
guidelines, etc.
- Coordinate case management of all employee workers compensation
claims, including maintaining all related documentation, conducting
investigations as necessary, and completion of all required
reports. Develop and conduct employee safety training sessions.
Prepares and/or processes inspection reports, inspection/safety
guidelines, various reports required by regulatory agencies,
purchase orders, safety data sheets, and various records, routine
reports, memos, correspondence, etc.
- Supervises subordinate safety personnel, supervisory duties
include instructing, assigning, reviewing and planning work of
others; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; recruiting
and selecting new employees; acting on employee problems;
recommending and approving employee promotions, transfers and
discipline, and recommending discharge.
- Coordination of the Park's safety program, including policies
and procedures relating to OSHA compliance, facility safety
inspections and corrective action program, OSHA record keeping
program, and safety training program, including hazardous
communication, ladder usage, fall protection, lock out, and
respirator use. Assists in the development and implementation of
Park safety standard operating guidelines.
- Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park
policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO
policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all
aspects of employment.

Qualifications:
- 3-4 Years Related Experience in Fire Prevention Safety
- High School Diploma Or Equivalent -
- Valid Driver's License Required
- Ohio -Emergency Medical Technician -Certification
- Ohio Firefighters Certification -
- Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company
policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or
older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal,
DMV , previous employment, education and personal references, per
Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial
-law
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet
business needs -
