Reports to: Building Official & Building Coordinator
General Responsibilities:
Produce and maintain detailed Building permitting and inspection
documents for the Township as required by the Michigan Building
Code 2015 and Charter Township of Lyon, Code of Ordinances.
Facilitate the resolution of residents', tenants', contractors' and
local businesses' construction and property related issues.
Function as resource and reference for both internal and external
requests for documentation, reports and data.
Hours: Full Time.
Benefits: As established by Township's Personnel Manual. Salary
Range: $35,000 - $40,000 (Based on Experience)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities, as Assigned
The Permitting Analyst must have knowledge of construction
processes and sequencing to analyze and ensure the permit
application is accurate and complete. That same knowledge is
required for the scheduling inspections and assisting in the
resolution of failed inspections. Organization skills and the
ability to prioritize are critical for the facilitation of the plan
review process. Accuracy and attention to detail are required for
fee calculation and invoicing. Exceptional customer service skills
and work ethic are mandatory.
